Die Stuttgart Surge gehen mit Rückenwind in die neue Saison: Zwei Wide Receiver bleiben, ein vielversprechender Neuzugang kommt – gemeinsam will man 2025 angreifen.
Mit Leonell Fritzen verlängert ein echter Leistungsträger. Der 1,70 Meter große Wide Receiver bringt nicht nur seine Erfahrung aus Jahren bei den Unicorns mit zwei CEFL-Titel (2021, 2022) und einem GFL Bowl (2022) mit, sondern auch eine ungebrochene Leidenschaft für das Spiel. Seit 2015 hat er sich seinen Weg durch die deutschen Football-Ligen gebahnt, von den Ludwigsburg Bulldogs (2015) über die Stuttgart Scorpions (2016) bis zu den Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns (2017, 2019-2023). Nun steht er erneut für die Surge auf dem Feld und wendet sich mit einem klaren Ziel vor Augen direkt an die Fans: „Lassen Sie uns dieses Jahr eine unvergessliche Saison erleben!“
Eine Reise durch Football-Deutschland liegt auch hinter dem gebürtigen Niedersachsen Timon Stüwe. Sie führte ihn von den Meppen Titans (2014-2018) über die Oldenburg Knights (2019-2020) und Emsland United (2021) bis zu den Marburg Mercenaries (2021) – immer auf der Suche nach der nächsten Herausforderung. Zuletzt stand er 2022 und 2023 für die Leipzig Kings auf dem Feld und erzielte 2023 in nur vier Spielen starke 105 Yards bei sieben Receptions. Seine Stationen zeigen: Hier kommt ein Spieler mit Tiefe und Entwicklungshunger. In Stuttgart will der 1,89 Meter große und 88kg schwere Receiver nun den nächsten Schritt gehen und der Offensive neue Dimensionen verleihen.
Auch Emil Rabin bleibt Teil des Teams und formuliert seine Entschlossenheit mit dem großen Ziel auf das Heimfinale in Stuttgart: „Wie einer meiner Coaches sagte: Größe erfordert Maßnahmen, die nur wenige zu ergreifen bereit sind. Ich hatte eine tolle Vorsaison und bin in der besten Form meines Lebens. Ich werde allen auf dem Spielfeld zeigen, was ich kann!“. Der 1,88 Meter große Receiver begann seine Karriere bei den Nürnberg Rams (2017-2021) und sammelte internationale Erfahrung in den USA bei den Graceland Yellowjackets (2022). Seit 2023 trägt er nun das Trikot der Surge und überzeugte in fünf Spielen von seinen Fähigkeiten. Mit diesen drei Athleten unterstreicht die Stuttgart Surge ihre Ambitionen für die kommende ELF-Saison. Es ist ein klares Bekenntnis zu Qualität, Kontinuität und Charakter – und ein Versprechen an die Fans: Diese Saison soll unvergesslich werden.
Stuttgart Surge upgrades: Three wide receivers confirmed for 2025
The Stuttgart Surge are entering the new season with a tailwind: two wide receivers are staying, a promising new addition is coming - together they want to attack in 2025.
Leonell Fritzen, a real top performer, is extending his contract. The 1.70-metre wide receiver not only brings his experience from years with the Unicorns, including two CEFL titles (2021, 2022) and a GFL Bowl (2022), but also an unwavering passion for the game. Since 2015, he has made his way through the German football leagues, from the Ludwigsburg Bulldogs (2015) to the Stuttgart Scorpions (2016) to the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns (2017, 2019-2023). Now he is back on the field for the Surge and is addressing the fans directly with a clear goal in mind: “Let's have an unforgettable season this year!”
Lower Saxony-born Timon Stüwe also has a journey through football Germany behind him. It has taken him from the Meppen Titans (2014-2018) to the Oldenburg Knights (2019-2020) and Emsland United (2021) to the Marburg Mercenaries (2021) - always on the lookout for the next challenge. Most recently, he was on the field for the Leipzig Kings in 2022 and 2023 and recorded a strong 105 yards on seven receptions in just four games in 2023. His stations show: Here comes a player with depth and a hunger for development. In Stuttgart, the 1.89-meter, 88kg receiver now wants to take the next step and add new dimensions to the offense.
Emil Rabin also remains part of the team and formulates his determination with the big goal of the home final in Stuttgart: "As one of my coaches said: greatness requires action that few are willing to take. I had a great pre-season and am in the best shape of my life. I'm going to show everyone on the field what I can do!". The 1.88-meter receiver began his career with the Nuremberg Rams (2017-2021) and gained international experience in the USA with the Graceland Yellowjackets (2022). He has now been wearing the Surge jersey since 2023 and showed off his skills in five games.
With these three athletes, the Stuttgart Surge is underlining its ambitions for the upcoming ELF season. It is a clear commitment to quality, continuity and character - and a promise to the fans: this season will be unforgettable.
