Für die kommende Saison 2025 hat sich Stuttgart die Dienste eines der stärksten und talentiertesten Runningbacks in Europa gesichert: Tomiwa „Tommy“ Oyewo hat einen Vertrag bei der Surge unterschrieben und wird in der kommenden Spielzeit eine zentrale Rolle im Running Game von Head Coach Jordan Neuman spielen.
Der in Dublin geborene Ire wechselt von den Munich Ravens nach Stuttgart. In München war er 2023 und 2024 im Einsatz und absolvierte insgesamt 23 Spiele für die Bayern. In seiner ELF-Debütsaison 2023 war er mit 14 Rushing Touchdowns der beste Runningback der Liga. Mit insgesamt 2.518 Total Yards und 33 erzielten Touchdowns in seinen zwei Jahren bei den Ravens kann Oyewo eine beachtliche Bilanz vorweisen.
Vor seiner Karriere in der European League of Football war der heute 25-jährige „Tommy“ Oyewo sechs Jahre lang in Irland im Einsatz: Von 2015 bis 2021 spielte er für die South Kildare Soldiers in Irland. Anschießend zog es ihn nach Deutschland in die GFL zu den Allgäu Comets, für die er 2022 auflief und in 12 Spielen auf insgesamt 852 Total Yards und 6 Touchdowns kam.
Der 1,79 Meter große und 96 Kilogramm schwere Runningback, dessen geheimes Talent – neben dem Football – seine großartigen Fähigkeiten als Tänzer ist sind, wechselt bewusst zur Stuttgart Surge und freut sich auf die kommende Saison:

Stuttgart has secured the services of one of the strongest and most talented running backs in Europe for the upcoming 2025 season: Tomiwa "Tommy" Oyewo has signed a contract with the Surge and will play a central role in head coach Jordan Neuman's running game.
The Dublin native comes to Stuttgart from the Munich Ravens. He played for Munich in the 2023 and 2024 seasons, making 23 appearances for the Bavarians. In his ELF debut season in 2023, he was the best running back in the league with 14 rushing touchdowns. With a total of 2,518 yards and 33 touchdowns scored in his two years with the Ravens, Oyewo has a remarkable record.
