Jordan Neumans Philosophie der Kontinuität als Schlüssel zum Erfolg setzt sich in der Zusammenstellung des Rosters weiter fort. Mit Lasse Engel und Konstantin Katz werden die Verträge von zwei erfahrenen DBs, die beide in Stuttgart geboren sind, für die kommende Saison 2025 verlängert.
Der Deutsch-Däne Lasse Engel ist seit 2023 bei der Stuttgart Surge und stand in insgesamt 25 Spielen, in denen er in Summe 51 Total Tackles und drei Interceptions für die Stuttgarter erwirken konnte, auf dem Platz. Natürlich möchte Engel auch in der kommenden Saison wieder für seine Geburtsstadt auflaufen: „Es ist eine große Ehre, wieder für meine Heimatstadt zu spielen und Stuttgart eine weitere Saison auf der europäischen Bühne zu vertreten. Dieses Team und diese Organisation sind etwas ganz Besonderes und ich bin stolz, wieder ein Teil davon zu sein.“ Der Defensive Back, der neben seiner Tätigkeit als professioneller Footballspieler auch intensiv als Schauspieler aktiv ist, war vor seinem Wechsel in die European League of Football von 2011 bis 2017 bei den Stuttgart Scorpions im Einsatz. Von 2018 bis 2020 spielte Engel auf NCAA Div. I-Niveau bei den San Diego State Aztecs in den USA, wo er den New Mexican Bowl 2020 gewann. Für seine Dienste in der dänischen Nationalmannschaft wurde Engel 2018 für das Nordic Allstar-Team nominiert.

So werden wir alles gewinnen!“ – Seit 2023 vertraut die Stuttgart Surge völlig zurecht auf die Dienste von Konstantin Katz, weshalb eine Verlängerung der Zusammenarbeit nur folgerichtig ist. Er kam von der Frankfurt Galaxy, wo er 2022 seine Debütsaison in der European League of Football absolvierte. Ausgebildet wurde er bei den Stuttgart Scorpions, bei denen er viele Jahre spielte (2010-2019). Danach zog es ihn in die Schweiz zu den Calanda Broncos, wo er von 2020 bis 2021 im Einsatz war und seine Station dort 2021 mit dem Gewinn des Swiss Bowls erfolgreich abschließen konnte. Als ein fähiger Motivator hat Konstantin Katz eine wichtige Bedeutung für das Teamgefüge der Stuttgart Surge. Seine Ziele für die kommende Saison sind klar: „Zu Hause alles gewinnen!“
Engel and Katz remain in Stuttgart's defensive backfield!
Jordan Neuman's philosophy of continuity as the key to success continues with the composition of the roster. With Lasse Engel and Konstantin Katz, the contracts of two experienced DBs, both born in Stuttgart, have been extended through the upcoming 2025 season.
German Dane Lasse Engel has been with the Stuttgart Surge since 2023 and has played in a total of 25 games, recording 51 total tackles and three interceptions for Stuttgart. Of course, Engel wants to play for his hometown again next season: "It's a great honor to come back to play for my hometown and represent Stuttgart on the European stage for another season. This team and organization is special and I am proud to be a part of it once more.” The defender, who is also very active as an actor in addition to his work as a professional football player, played for the Stuttgart Scorpions from 2011 to 2017 before moving to the European League of Football. From 2018 to 2020, Engel played at the NCAA Div. I level with the San Diego State Aztecs in the USA, where he won the 2020 New Mexican Bowl.
